Notification Types
Hitorino groups notifications into four categories. Each category can be enabled or disabled independently for email, in-app, and push delivery.Live Alerts
Sent when a creator you follow or subscribe to goes live. These are time-sensitive — configure push notifications for creators whose streams you never want to miss.
New Video
Sent when a creator you follow uploads a new video. You can choose to receive these immediately or as a daily digest.
Comment Replies
Sent when someone replies directly to one of your comments. Includes a preview of the reply text.
Mentions
Sent when another user mentions your @username in a comment, a chat message during a live stream, or a creator post.
Accessing Notification Settings
To open your notification preferences, click your avatar in the top-right corner, select Settings, and then choose Notifications from the left-hand menu. You can also reach this page directly by clicking the bell icon in the main navigation and selecting Notification Settings at the bottom of the dropdown.Delivery Channels
For each notification type you can choose one or more delivery methods:- In-App
- Email
- Push Notifications
In-app notifications appear in the bell dropdown in the navigation bar. The bell icon shows a badge count for unread notifications. Clicking a notification takes you directly to the relevant stream, video, or comment thread. In-app notifications are stored for 90 days, after which they are automatically cleared.
Global Notification Settings
The top of the Notifications settings page shows global toggles. These act as master switches — turning off a category here disables it across all delivery channels and all creators simultaneously.| Notification Type | Default State |
|---|---|
| Live Alerts | On (in-app and push) |
| New Video | On (in-app only) |
| Comment Replies | On (in-app and email) |
| Mentions | On (in-app and email) |
Per-Creator Notification Settings
When you want more or less noise from a specific creator, override the global settings for that creator alone. This is useful when you follow many channels but only want push alerts for a handful of favorites.Open notification preferences for that creator
Click the bell icon on their channel page (next to the Subscribe button). A small panel opens with options specific to that creator.
Choose your alert level
Select one of the preset alert levels, or click Custom to toggle individual notification types on or off for this creator:
- All Alerts — live, new video, and mentions from this creator across all delivery channels
- Live Only — push and in-app alerts only when they go live
- None — no notifications from this creator (equivalent to muting)
- Custom — pick exactly which types and delivery methods apply
Muting Creators
Muting stops all notifications from a creator without unfollowing or unsubscribing. You keep access to their content and your subscription stays active — you just won’t be alerted about new activity.
To unmute, repeat the steps and choose any option other than None.
Email Frequency and Unsubscribing
If you receive too many emails, go to Settings → Notifications → Email Preferences and switch from Immediate to Daily Digest for any notification type. You can also click Unsubscribe from all notification emails at the bottom of any Hitorino notification email — this disables email delivery for all types while leaving in-app and push notifications untouched.Notification History
The bell dropdown in the navigation bar shows your most recent 50 notifications. To browse older notifications, click See All at the bottom of the dropdown. The full notification history page shows the past 90 days of activity and lets you filter by notification type. To clear all notifications at once, click Mark All as Read or Clear All at the top of the history page. Why am I not receiving push notifications even though they're enabled?
Why am I not receiving push notifications even though they're enabled?
A few things can block push notifications after you’ve enabled them:
- Browser permission revoked: Open your browser settings, find Hitorino in the site permissions list, and re-enable notifications.
- Do Not Disturb mode: Your operating system’s Do Not Disturb or Focus mode can suppress all app and browser notifications. Check your system notification settings.
- Battery saver or power mode: Some mobile devices suppress background push delivery in aggressive battery-saving modes. Allow Hitorino to run in the background.
- Expired subscription: Push notification subscriptions can expire. Visit Settings → Notifications and click Refresh Push Subscription to re-register your device.
